Angels Third Baseman Anthony Rendon Exits Game With Hamstring Tightness
Rendon Removed in Fourth Inning of 3-2 Win Over Braves
Experiencing Discomfort Since Tuesday
Los Angeles Angels third baseman Anthony Rendon was removed from Friday night's game against Atlanta Braves in the fourth inning due to discomfort in his right hamstring.
Rendon had been experiencing the tightness since Tuesday, but the discomfort worsened as the game went on.
"I've been dealing with it for a couple of days, but it just got to the point where I couldn't really run at full speed," Rendon said after the game.
Rendon spoke to the team's medical staff and decided that it was best to come out of the game.
"It's disappointing, but I don't want to make it worse," Rendon said.
Rendon is day-to-day and will be evaluated further on Saturday.
The Angels are hopeful that the injury is not a serious and that Rendon will be able to return to the lineup soon.
"We'll just have to see how it responds tomorrow," Angels manager Phil Nevin said.
Rendon is a key part of the Angels lineup and his absence would be a blow to the team.
